Registration is open for Ultra Gobi AlUla 2027 — sign up on Ultra Signup

As of today, you can register for the first Ultra Gobi AlUla, January 13–20, 2027, in AlUla, Saudi Arabia. For the first time in the Series, registration runs on Ultra Signup, the platform international ultrarunners already use. Entries close November 15, 2026.

Five formats from 30 to 400 kilometres

Check-in, race briefing, and opening ceremony for all formats are on January 13. Every race starts at Elephant Rock, one of the most recognisable sandstone formations in AlUla.

The Ultra Gobi AlUla 400km is solo, self-navigated, self-supported, with a 139-hour cutoff. 50 starting slots. Qualification: a finisher certificate for one 160km+ nonstop trail race within its official cutoff, completed since January 1, 2025. Prize money in the men's and women's categories. $3,500.

The Ultra Gobi AlUla A+ (121km, nonstop) is a continuous 75-mile push through day, night, and back into morning. Qualification: one 100km+ nonstop finish, or two 50km+ trail finishes since January 1, 2025. Cutoff on January 15. Prize money in both categories. $1,460.

The Ultra Gobi AlUla A (121km, 4-day team race) is the signature team event of the series. Teams of three to five. Scored on the time of the third runner across each stage finish, which means two fast runners cannot carry the team. The slower runners decide the result. $2,810 per person.

The Ultra Gobi AlUla B (121km, 4-day stage race)is the same course, individually, at your own pace. Stages of 25 to 35 kilometres with generous daily cutoffs. Full camp each night. $2,810.

The Ultra Gobi AlUla C (30km, 1-day)is a single day through the most iconic section of the course, followed by a night in the desert camp under AlUla's sky. No race experience required. $1,010.

Registration for Ultra Gobi YOUTH is only possible, if you have participated in an Ultra Gobi event before. If you like to join, please send us an email.

Deadlines, refunds, and travel

Registration deadline: November 15, 2026. Full refund until November 18, 2026 (AlUla local time). 70% refund from November 18 to December 10, 2026. No refund after December 10.

Visas and travel are handled individually. Visa on arrival is available for many nationalities at major Saudi airports — check visitsaudi.com for the rules that apply to your passport. The nearest airport is Prince Abdul Majeed bin Abdulaziz Airport (ULH) in AlUla itself. For accommodation, the organising team can help.
